Safe deposit box development history

The first stage

The history of the safe can be traced back to the Middle Ages. In medieval paintings, occasionally a wooden cabinet with gold and silver jewels is seen, which is the prototype of a modern safe. Figure 1 shows the famous French safe manufacturer replicating the wooden safe of gold and silver jewelry in the 18th century Louis. These safes are shaped like furniture, have no special locks, and are less secure. Until the early 19th century 200 years ago, with the growth of the social economy, the safe industry began to develop, and manufacturers of special locks appeared in Europe.

Second stage

The material of the safe has changed from wood to various solid metals, but it is basically cast by wood splicing technology or integral. It is similar in appearance and craftsmanship to the furniture at the time, and the precision of the lock is not high.

The third phase

Figure 3 is an iron safe with a history of about 200 years. It looks like an ordinary two-door iron cabinet. The hinge is similar to the entry position of wood. The production technology is quite high. The development of safes in the United States is slightly later than in Europe, but the United States has also become a strong country in safe production. In 1857, the famous S&G (Sargent & Greenleaf) was established in the United States, and later became one of the world's most famous locksmiths and safe manufacturers.

Fourth stage

Figure 4 is an early S & G product with a history of about 130 years. At that time, the welding technology had not been developed, and the safe was riveted with a stud, which was fierce and extremely secure.

Fifth stage

Fig. 5 is a product of the same period as Fig. 4, which is obviously miniaturized and equipped with casters and handles, which is convenient for moving and placed and has a significant difference from the furniture. Modeled with casters and handles for easy movement

Sixth stage The lock industry in the late 1950s was still underdeveloped. Although the shape of the safes at that time was changing with each passing day, the precision and reliability of the locks did not develop much. In the late 1960s, Americans invented the lock mechanism and multi-lock technology for safes, and the safety performance of the safes was greatly improved. Figure 6 shows the safe with an early locking mechanism and a multi-door design, which appeared after 1865. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, Europeans used the Swiss watchmaking process to develop a rotary-type lock. The safe technology emerged as a breakthrough, and confidentiality and safety were greatly improved. The development of locks and safes complement each other. Until today, turntable locks are still used in the safe industry. Early turntable locks and safes for such locks (approximately 1900). In the 1960s and 1970s, due to the rapid development of semiconductor technology, the industry developed electronic code locks, and electronic code locks were widely used in various types of safe products. After that, LED and LCD digital displays are used in the safe. The user's demand for fire protection has also spawned various fireproof products. The development of fingerprint scanning recognition technology has promoted the use of fingerprint locks in safes. The popularity of magnetic cards has derived magnetic cards. Safes...and the types of safes have evolved to the most invaluable categories of anti-theft, fire protection, anti-theft/fireproof, anti-magnetic, household, commercial, hotel, firearms, documents/data, etc.
